Sign Select, based in Kilbarry, Co Waterford has recently completed an investment programme which involved the purchase of a Roland VersaCAMM VS-640 print and cut machine, an  Easymount 1600 Cold laminator as well as a major re-branding of the outside of the company’s premises.

Sign Select which specialises in dimensional signage, display systems, digital print and vinyl graphics, undertook the investment to enhance and upgrade its production facilities in tandem with uplifting the appearance of the company building.

Struan Bickerton, MD of the company commented:

“The two machines were installed a few months ago and they have given us the ability to take on a lot more display work, vechicle wraps, graphics, lightboxes, and banners,” said Bickerton. “The investment has given us far better control of our production and has also allowed us to take in new work such as pull-up banner stands, banners, and window graphics. One new area we are looking at developing is the corporate area where large companies have huge wall and window space where typically they are putting in wall murals, glass graphics/motivational themes.”

Bickerton also had very high praise for his team at Sign Select.

“I am very lucky to have a fantastic bunch of guys working here,” he added. “They are hard working with true team spirit and a sense of commitment. They always deliver even when under pressure which is very often. They pull out the stops to get the job done. We would not be the company we are without them. They are proud of what they do and so they should be. My wife Marianne also works in the business looking after the accounts and administration, I could not operate without her fantastic work and dedication. I am truly blessed with a great team.”

The re-branding of the premises was also undertaken to highlight the fact that Sign Select was indeed a large signage company which the original look of the building did not project.

“We put up a 2.2 metre x 5 metre outdoor PVC back lit illuminated Flex Face light box sign system,” explained Bickerton. “In addition we wanted to create the impression that it was held up by a number of giant pillars to give a sense of presence and take away the flat appearance of the graphic so we manufactured these using nine inch tubing which were colour imaged to match the building itself.”

According to Bikerton one of the main sectors Sign Select is currently concentrating on is fast food take-away outlets.

“This involves designing the logo, layout and colour scheme right up to the external signage and internal menu systems. We are good at that and it’s something we specialise in. Recently we have teamed up with a fast food/take-away consultant who helps companies set up their businesses in a streamlined and efficient manner to ensure that these companies make money. He really likes our work and has started to bring us on board with a number of his clients. With our signage expertise and particularly the recent investment in the Roland VersaCAMM VS-640 print and cut machine and Easymount 1600 Cold laminator, Sign Select is now very much geared up to exploit a number of new opportunities in the future.”
