HP has just announced that The Printed Image, based in Fonthill, Dublin 22 has invested in an HP Scitex FB7500 Press. The main purpose of the new press appears to be centred on enabling The Printed Image to increase its production capacity, in tandem with improved offerings to customers of high-quality applications and quicker turnarounds.

Established in 1990 as a marketing communications company, The Printed Image is today a leading supplier to the fast moving consumer goods industry with a formidable production unit which includes screen, lithographic and digital printing. It offers clients a wide range of innovative solutions including POS, POP, exhibition graphics and outdoor signage and branding.

The HP Scitex FB7500 Press can print on an extensive range of rigid and flexible sheet-fed material ranging from paper to boards up to 25 mm thick. It can run at speeds of up to 500 m2/h and is designed for fast-paced production environments at resolutions of up to 1,200 dpi. The press also has dedicated, fast-drying UV curable inks which HP maintain deliver vibrant colours with up to two years outdoor durability with abrasion and water resistance.

Colin Culliton, Managing Director of The Printed Image commented that his customers expect high-quality branded applications in increasingly tighter deadlines.

"The FB7500 has allowed us to increase throughput”, he said. “We can now offer a fast turnaround service without compromising on print quality, even on tricky substrates like corrugated media. Jobs which previously took us two days to complete using traditional methods of production can now be printed and delivered all on the same day."

Culliton concluded:

“The new press has delivered many advantages for the company, because it has enabled us to provide a high degree of sophistication and add value to the applications that we offer."
