Print and Finishing Equipment (PFE), based in Rosemount Business Park, Blanchardstown, in Dublin has announced the sale of two Roland Versa UV LEJ- 640 Hybrid Flatbed Printers since its Irish launch in May of this year. The company which specialises in supplying Print and Finishing Equipment to the general and digital print market in Ireland is also a Roland digital machine dealer. The sales were made to First Print in Drogheda with the second going to Business Print in Ballymount in Dublin.

The Roland Versa UV LEJ- 640 is aimed at the sign and point-of-sale market and as Yvonne Maguire, Marketing Assistant at PFE explained; it has a number of innovative features.

“It’s a high quality 64 inch hybrid UV printer which prints up to 13 mm on rigid material,” she said. “This machine hits the market at the right price point for sign makers or general commercial printers who have a demand for short run rigid boards and are looking to upgrade from running a roll fed machine and mounting. It’s also the latest edition to the Roland large format UV Range of which there are now 5 machines all using the same technology with the massive benefits of white and gloss ink as well as Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black.”

Declan Haughey, MD of First Print commented that his company had a number of wins from purchasing the Roland Versa UV LEJ- 640.

“I went for a Roland because the company already has two Roland’s and they are very reliable machines,” Haughey said. “I also needed a back up for one in particular - the SOLJet PRO 111 - because if that goes down then I’m in serious trouble. But I also wanted to invest in a machine that would allow me not just to have a back up but one that would allow me to also offer additional services and break into new markets. I like the fact that it’s UV, it can produce Braille, and the intention is to migrate a significant amount of the companies screen work onto the new digital Roland press.”

One particularly innovative feature of this new printer is its ability to create custom patterns and embossing effects on both roll media and rigid substrates.

“The Roland Versa UV LEJ- 640 allows the user to explore a wide range of applications with just one printer,” continued Maguire. “It’s ideal for packaging prototypes, POP, as well as wide format signage and window graphics. It’s another Roland printer that comes with the same reliability and quality people come to expect from the Roland family.”
