Enlarged group can offer a broader range of services and expertise.
zenithC3imaging with plants in the UK and Ireland has been acquired by Welsh-based Zenith Media and Zenith Print & Packaging. The company which specialized in digital print and display graphics was forced to enter a CVA (company voluntary arrangement) in February 2011 after being declared insolvent.
The group came out of the arrangement in February after "meeting its commitments in full" and continued to trade profitably.
It was approached by John Mooney, the present owner of Zenith Media and Zenith Print & Packaging some time later and, after a period of negotiations, Mooney took control of the group in May.
Industry sources have confirmed that C3imaging will retain its identity after the takeover. The synergy of the new enlarged Zenith Media group means that it will have the added capacity of C3imaging Group’s digital & litho range with its own litho production facilities which now "cover the whole gamut" of print production from digital and wide-format to B1 and B2 format litho presses.
It has also been revealed that a major investment in working capital has been initiated by Mooney to fund a large re-equipping programme across the enlarged group. This involves new small and large format machinery with ongoing discussions continuing with companies such as HP for additional presses.
