Sihl_webSihl Direct UK will make its first appearance at next month’s Sign and Digital UK. The company, which recently began to sell its own manufactured ink jet media directly to the UK market (and also through selected resellers), is already well established as a leading provider of coated media through OEM, distribution and reseller channels.
Ian Turnbull, operations director, Sihl Direct UK which is based in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, has said: “Sihl Direct UK is part of the Diatec Group. This is a massive global manufacturing operation and we are ideally suited to developing a broad range of popular, high quality coated media products for the large format market as well as delivering cost-effective solutions for companies. We are now marketing products for most wide-format inkjet printers and ink technologies including specialist materials such as canvas, vinyls and films as well as photobase papers.”
He added: “Sign and Digital UK is a very important show for Sihl Direct. Our broad range of coated media for aqueous, solvent UV-cure printers is exceptional. The quality of coating on inkjet media can make a huge difference to the overall viewing experience for printed output and our media has been tested extensively on all major LF printers and also in a range of environmental conditions.”
One reason for this new operation appears to be Diatec’s belief that it needed to strengthen its brand position to a wider UK audience, something not being achieved through the previous structure of selling through resellers alone.
Diatec has already built up a reputation for quality, consistency and reliability and Sihl Direct UK has been established to further develop its existing business in the UK by servicing the large format printing market directly from its UK base. Sihl Direct’s branded media is now available through both selected partners and directly to the end user.
