Making its debut at the easyFairs® Packaging & Print Portfolio is PRINT INNOVATIONS 2012, a trade show for end users and buyers of all print products. The new show will be showcasing the very latest print solutions aimed at achieving quick turnaround, on-shelf brand differentiation and accelerating time to market.

PRINT INNOVATIONS 2012 opens its doors on February 29th and March 1st, 2012, at the NEC Birmingham, and has already attracted an array of major manufacturers keen to stamp their mark on the show-floor. Big-name exhibitors include Kodak, Xerox Europe, Hewlett-Packard, Agfa Graphics, Impression Technology Europe, EskoArtwork, Miller Graphics Corniche and Punch Graphics.

Xeikon Europe (Stand F6), experts in digital colour printing, realises that in an industry where technology and innovation are the driving forces, performance is measured by one criterion only: customer satisfaction.

Filip Weymans, Business Development Manager of Labels & Packaging at Xeikon said: ‘At PRINT INNOVATIONS 2012 the focus of Xeikon will be on labels and packaging. One of our customers will join us in representing our company – he will give his view on the evolving industrial market. We will be highlighting to visitors what the benefits are of digital printing and what the impact is on their business, in the field of applications as well as profit.’

With today’s fast-paced development of the latest production lines, Pago (Stand E15) labelling technology always remains one step ahead. Mike Healey, sales and service director at Pago Ltd (UK and Ireland), said: ‘With a fast installation and high running efficiency, Pago can maximise your return on investment. Pago will be presenting the latest advances in the extensive range of Pagomat automatic labelling machines, offering market-leading labelling accuracy in tough and continuous industrial use.’

Pagomats prove reliability in demanding industrial environments running 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As the basic models operate with just four buttons and a thumbwheel, minimal training is required and allows for installation to production in one day.

Impression Technology Europe (Stand G14) will be using the show to demonstrate how economic producing full colour, high quality labels can be with its Rapid X1 and X2 short-run digital label printing systems, both of which represent an economic entry point into this market.

The X1 is the small footprint table-top version while the X2 is the larger floor standing model which can be fully integrated into a production environment. Roy Burton, managing director at Impression Technology Europe, said: ‘Having exhibited at this show for the first time last year, I am confident that it presents a great opportunity for visitors to review the rapid label systems’ ability to produce short-run volumes.’

Friedheim International (Stand D20) will be displaying a full range of automatic and semi-automatic wrapping machines of all types and sizes, as well as a wide selection of horizontal and vertical feeders and strapping equipment.

Stuart Bamford, Friedheim International’s national packaging sales manager, said: ‘Whether a packaging process requires film, shrink or sleeve wrapping, in-line or off-line, Friedheim is able to supply automatic or semi-automatic machines that can handle a wide variety of shapes and sizes of products. In addition, we can provide a range of feeding options and strapping possibilities. Give us the problem and we’ll try and solve it!’

Intelligent Finishing Systems Ltd (Stand J11), now the sole distributor of the Petratto brand in the UK and Ireland, will demonstrate Metro – a modular system which allows the automation of multiple processes usually performed by teams of handworkers. Depending on how the system is configured this may include the forming of cartons, envelopes and capacity folders, applications of lines of glue, tabs of fugitive glue and tapes, attachment of items such as loyalty cards or CDs and the insertion of additional collateral.

Tony Hards, joint managing director at Intelligent Finishing Systems, said: ‘The Petratto machines have been developed specifically for this sector. They are heavy duty and sophisticated with the kind of robust build quality and high performance engineering required in this work. The Metro, in particular, is a system with endless permutations of possibilities. Because it brings automation to a previously labour-intensive area, it offers the opportunity for savings in costs and time while improving quality and reliability.’

Also exhibiting at this new show, the Bobst Group UK & Ireland (Stand G18a) will promote a unique set of solutions and services, such as SMARTcare, a consultative productivity improvement service designed to continuously improve existing operating practices and procedures.

easyFairs® PRINT INNOVATIONS will be co-located with four other shows CONTRACT PACK, ECOPACK, PACKAGING INNOVATIONS and PACKTECH.
