A broad range of high-value applications
for converters will be on show.
HP has confirmed that it will be showcasing the latest HP Indigo and Scitex-printed packaging solutions at Packaging Innovations (26 – 27 February 2014, NEC, Birmingham).
The company plans to demonstrate a broad range of digitally printed flexible packaging, folding carton, shrink sleeve and label applications on its booth (Hall 9, Stand J21).
HP is using a special ‘Digitally printed Supermarket’ themed stand to exhibit these samples with the intension of inspiring packaging professionals across the supply chain.
It wants visitors to see how special printing effects, personalisation and high-quality colour reproduction can be combined with the unique production benefits of digital printing. One example HP cited is how short-runs and quicker response times add value and differentiate packaging in an increasingly-competitive retail environment.
“Packaging converters are under pressure to offer smaller quantities, and deliver products faster and more efficiently, while maintaining high quality standards,” explained Julia Cole, UK & Ireland marketing manager, HP Indigo. “The latest HP Indigo solutions address these challenges. They cost-effectively enable converters to operate affordable and profitable cost models. Brands can also take advantage of streamlined supply chains, reduced inventories, quicker time-to-market and increased promotional capabilities through personalisation and mass customisation.”
She added: “Packaging Innovations provides the perfect platform to ensure these benefits are understood throughout the supply chain. It’s a great opportunity for HP to further develop the dynamic relationship it has with its customers and major brands.”
HP said it will also display on the stand examples of retail packaging and other corrugated applications produced on the HP Scitex FB10000 Industrial presses. It believes that today’s retail market not only requires short-run, fast-turnaround services, but also new products including full-colour retail-ready packaging, co-packing POP/POS displays, and just-in-time deliveries. The company wants to show how these HP Scitex presses enable corrugated converters to streamline production and help enable them to meet those demands.
In addition to the HP booth, HP will be hosting a LearnShop on 27 February at 10.30 – 11.00am in the Print Innovations Theatre. The seminar, entitled “How Brands Can Get Up Front and Personal,” will be presented by Julia Cole, HP, and Trevor Smith, managing director, Amberley Labels, a long-standing HP Indigo customer. Visitors will be invited to discover how HP digital printing solutions can help them to add value to labels and packaging to better meet today’s marketing trends.
