Company unveils plans for exhibition.

Smartbinder PlusSmartbinder PlusIBIS Integrated Bindery Systems, a leading supplier of digital in-line saddle stitching, has confirmed that it will have a live-running system – using patented technology – at Ipex, London’s ExCel, 24 – 29 March (Stand N3–D275). This will be the first time the company has exhibited on its own stand at the show.

IBIS’s said its latest high-speed model, Smart-binder SB-3 ‘Plus HS’, will be producing booklets from a digitally-print roll unwinder/cutter throughout the exhibition.

John Cracknell, Managing Director of IBIS Integrated Bindery Systems, said: “As market leader, we have built our reputation on providing unique solutions and a vital service offering for a diverse range of companies worldwide. We are delighted to be exhibiting at Ipex and I personally look forward to welcoming the many visitors to our stand who will want to see our Smart-binder system in action.”

He added: “Our market-leading finishing systems help us to make print more relevant and immediate to the recipient. Variable-data digital printing, combined with our IBIS on-demand in-line finishing systems, can do this very effectively “

The IBIS Smart-binder system is marketed as offering a variety of high-quality saddle-bound booklet (and perfect bound) finishing options for high-volume variable-data output. The Smart-binder operates either in-line with a continuous web digital press, or from a roll (as being exhibited at IPEX), or from an off-line sheet pile feeder.

The SB-3 is fitted with a patented Individual Sheet Gluing (ISG) cold gluing system, which has been developed to replace the need for conventional wire-stitching. IBIS said ISG gluing provides a higher quality bind, and allows the number of pages in each booklet to be continually varied from four pages up to 10mm maximum book thickness without stopping the sheet infeed flow from the web cutter or sheet feeder.
