Both have been created with separate zones designed for inspiration at exhibition.

Roland Texart RT-640 Roland Texart RT-640 Roland DG has announced that it will have two stands at Sign & Digital UK this year in an effort to whet the appetite of entrepreneurial sign makers looking to extend their product range and create new profitable revenue streams for their businesses. The company confirmed that it will also have a number of ‘UK firsts’, exclusive pre-launch previews and of course, savour its well known hospitality.

Brett Newman, Sales Director, Roland DG (UK) Ltd: “Roland DG has always been as much about the inspiration as the technology, and never has this been more evident than at Sign & Digital UK this year. We’ll have an extraordinary range of products and applications to surprise, excite and capture the imagination of visitors – all which have been produced on our wide format and 3D devices.”

To make it as easy as possible for visitors to fully embrace the ‘Roland experience’, the stands have been divided into zones.

The first is Roland DG’s 3D zone where visitors can see demonstrations of cutting edge technology offered by its monoFab ARM-10 3D printer and SRM-20 3D milling machine. People are invited to come along and see what 3D printing is all about, and talk with Roland’s in-house 3D expert, Peter Kettle.

The Print Zone will feature the recently launched 64” VersaEXPRESS RF-640 printer and Roland’s flagship print-only device, the SOLJET PRO 4 XF-640 – Roland’s fastest printer, capable of printing at speeds of up to 102m2/hr.

The Print & Cut Zone will showcase Roland’s leading integrated print and cut technology, including the SOLJET PRO 4 XR-640, representatives of the ever-popular VersaCAMM VS-i and VersaCAMM SP-i series and the CAMM-1 Pro GX-640 Vinyl Cutter.

The Personalisation Zone has been designed with the entrepreneur in mind - all those looking for exciting new applications that will help them to diversify their businesses. Known in the industry as the “magical machine”, the VersaUV LEF-20 desktop flatbed device prints directly onto most substrates up to 100mm thick. The LEF-20 has been designed to transform a vast range of ordinary objects including USB sticks, pens, badges, awards, smart phone covers, photo frames, coasters, laptop covers and even guitar bodies - into profitable, personalised items. The Roland team will also be demonstrating what it terms as ‘the money-making potential’ of its most compact and cost-efficient desktop wide format device, the VersaSTUDIO BN-20 desktop printer/cutter.

Those interested in finding out more about the durability of Roland’s ECO-UV ink technology should head for the UV Zone. Here they will find Roland DG’s two UV powerhouses, the VersaUV LEJ-640 Hybrid Printer and its bigger cousin - the VersaUV LEJ-640F flatbed printer.

Roland SolJet Pro4 XF-640 printer Roland SolJet Pro4 XF-640 printer In recognition of the growing popularity and commercial potential of soft signage and textile printing, Roland DG will be dedicating a separate stand to focus entirely on this area. Taking pride of place will be the recently launched Texart RT-640, which has begun to make a name for itself due to its versatility and quality of output. Visitors will be able to see for themselves the range of applications possible with a display of samples including sportswear and equipment- shirts, shorts, gloves, socks, sports bibs, shoelaces and gym bags; apparel such as handkerchiefs, ties, bikinis; gadgets and merchandising including phone cases, mugs, mouse mats; and examples of soft signage and interior applications.

All companies who register and attend Sign & Digital UK will go into a draw to win a Texart RT-640 64” dye sublimation printer package worth over £13,000, which includes installation of the machine, a set of Roland Texart inks, and a one-year RolandCare Silver warranty.

Roland DG customers Joe Mcnamara, Graphics Production Manager at Lotus F1 Team and ‘Big Pete’ Colman, founder and Managing Director of Classic Lines Plus Signs, will be joining Roland’s sales and technical support teams on the stand. Joe and Pete will share their experiences of using Roland and help sign makers and printers to understand in more detail how Roland’s flexible technology can help them to build more profitable businesses.

Anyone who is yet to have the opportunity to visit Roland’s Creative Centre at its head office near Bristol will be able to do the next best thing: take an on-stand virtual tour to explore Roland’s comprehensive and inspiring wide format applications centre.

Finally, those looking for a quick break from the hustle and bustle of a busy show are invited to enjoy a little of Roland’s hospitality at its café.

Concludes Brett Newman: “This truly is an incredible time for the sign making industry. Real and constant innovation in hardware and software, substrates and inks are coming together to create an industry that is, in my view, more dynamic, exciting and adventurous than ever before.

“The low barriers to entry have always been one of the most attractive characteristics of the wide format market. However, with the phenomenal level of flexibility these machines now also offer, sign makers and printers can confidently invest in wide format technology knowing they have a machine which offers maximum opportunities for diversification and growth. At Roland DG, we are very pleased to play our part in taking this fantastic industry forward by providing sign makers with all the tools and the applications they need to feed their inspiration and desire for growth, backed by service and support services that are the best in the business.”
