Designed to help printers expand their business
and create additional revenue streams.
Antalis UK has announced a series of workshops aimed at print service providers (PSPs) who would like to expand their knowledge of new applications and explore additional opportunities which could enable them to extend their services and increase revenue streams.
Antalis said the workshops, part of an ongoing series being launched by the company, will commence in September and take place at its Digital Academy, based at the company’s headquarters in Coalville, Leicestershire.
The first of these is to be held on the 11th September and will focus on signmaking. This has been designed to create an ideal learning environment for experienced printers looking into the sign and display market for the first time, as well as for new employees.
Hosted by experienced signmaker, author and presenter Paul Hughes, a regular speaker at the Signmaker’s workshops at Sign & Digital UK, this first workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of all aspects of signmaking, including the application of vinyl’s, vehicle livery and signboard making.
Colour management will be theme of the second workshop which has been planned to take place on the 24th September and has been developed for companies looking to achieve consistently high quality output and repeatable colour across a range of different digital devices. This workshop will be conducted by Jan Edgecombe, who will share his expertise drawn from 10 years of installing large format solvent and aqueous printers, proofing solutions and production RIP software. Antalis highlighted the fact that when it comes to achieving accurate repeatable colour, Jan has the expertise to help printers achieve consistent levels of accuracy from different technologies.
The final workshop in this series will take place on September 30th and focus on PSPs looking to explore business opportunities within the fine art market. The ‘Frame what you print’ workshop will be run by framing expert and experienced presenter Jack Siwinski, and includes an introduction to framing, practical demonstrations of mounting and laminating as well as a discussion on the resources and equipment required. Coming from a technical sales and maintenance background, Jack has demonstrated his mounting and laminating expertise at Sign & Digital, Photokina and Focus.
Commenting on the launch of these new workshops, Giles Bristow, Antalis Digital Support Manager said: “With the help of experienced professionals our educational workshops are designed to give delegates real hands-on experience, take-away examples and a thorough understanding of each area to equip them to expand their service offerings. They provide an ideal learning environment for printers looking to dip their toes into new markets or for new employees joining experienced companies.”
Places on the workshops are extremely limited and will cost £50, to include materials and lunch.
