City and West End to introduce brand

new HP Latex 300 solutions at exhibition.

HP Latex 360HP Latex 360It’s a sure bet that the UK based City and West End Solutions (CWE) team is buzzing with anticipation after announcing it will be showcasing the brand new HP Latex 300 range at this year’s Sign & Digital UK.

HP is launching the new series at the show, made up of the Latex 310, 330 and 360. The 310 is 54” wide, and the 330 and 360 both print up to 64” wide. All three use third generation HP Latex Printing Technology and are being marketed as having unprecedented price performance levels.

CWE Commercial Director Graham De Kock said: “We’re really excited about introducing this new range of HP Latex printers to our existing and potential customers. From small copy shops to medium and large print providers, there’s a suitable 300 for both indoor and outdoor sign and display applications.

“The new inks offer outstanding durability with superior scratch resistance on vinyl and banner and enhanced quality and performance on a wider range of media. The high ink density options further extend the superior detail and vibrancy to backlit media and textiles. The Latex360 with its ink collector kit also now allows printing directly to porous textiles including mesh banners and flags without any requirement for a liner.

“In the fast turnaround world of copy shops and print providers, the increased speed matched with fantastic and consistent colour and sharp detail will be a real selling point, improving their productivity and quality of output.”

A feature of the 300 range is that it comes with the HP Latex Optimizer developed to instantly pin pigments onto the media being printed.

Graham believes CWE clients will also appreciate the environmental benefits of the printers, both for their production teams and their customers.

“The HP Latex inks are completely free from odours, free from HAPS and require no special ventilation in production areas. Many of our customers are expanding into the interiors market, and the odourless prints make Latex printing the best option for places like schools, restaurants and hospitals where high environmental standards must be met.”

Water-based HP Latex Inks combine the best characteristics of solvent inks and water-based inks, although there is some debate about this in the marketplace. However, they produce high quality, odourless prints with the environmental advantages of water-based inks. HP Latex Ink prints are completely cured inside the printer to form a durable image that’s ready for lamination, finishing, shipment, or display.

Other features CWE considers key to this new range include the simple onboard media and ICC profile creation, the highly efficient heat ink curing system, enhanced colour consistency and the ink collector kit for porous textile and borderless printing.

CWE were recently recognised by HP as the leading reseller for latex printers sold throughout the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA), and the company remains the only HP Preferred Partner in the UK allowed to sell the full HP Wide Format portfolio.
