Changing the world beneath our feet.
It’s been revealed that an innovative new product is poised to take the European flooring market by storm. For quite some time now, marketers have increasingly been drawn to the benefits of using the surface we walk on to promote products and services and also for ‘way-finding’ purposes. It’s taken them a while, but gradually they’ve been waking up to the fact that when visitors and shoppers enter a location for the first time, they often spend a great deal of time looking at the floor as a way of navigating unfamiliar surroundings. Yet traditionally, most directional or POS material is sited on walls or on hanging banners.

Arizona 360GT used to decorate
one of the museum’s more
popular children’s attractions.
Océ, part of the Canon Group, has been helping A3M Designs Ltd’s work to enhance the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu. The UK based printer used its Océ Arizona 360GT to decorate one of the museum’s more popular children’s attractions. Eight specially-printed, profile cut, Dibond graphics featuring cartoon characters and cars were added to give a splash of colour to the surrounds of the children’s pedal car track. The 3-millimetre thick boards are proving popular with the young motorists, who have to navigate road junctions and traffic lights as part of the fun at the popular New Forest attraction.
A3M Designs is run by husband and wife team Linda and Ken Green in Farlington, near Portsmouth, UK. The project was printed by the company using a wide-format inkjet flatbed printer, the Océ Arizona 360GT which is capable of printing onto virtually any substrate up to 48mm thick.
Bridget Slevin, Head of Beaulieu Graphics Dept, commented: “These boards around the pedal car track have to withstand plenty of wear and tear so the ink has to be robust and tough and suitable for all kinds of outdoor weather. We’ve been delighted with the results. Ken’s very helpful and now he’s got the Océ Arizona there’s a lot more scope for future projects.”
Ken Green, Director of A3M Designs – which was founded over 30 years ago - commented: “I’ve invested £100,000 in this new Océ Arizona and we are already seeing significant benefits with new work coming in, such as extra projects with the National Motor Museum along with other projects using white ink on acrylic panels and the more common foamex panels. The Océ Arizona has shown a three-fold saving in print times and a huge reduction in finishing work, allowing us to cut turnaround times for our customers and meet those all important deadlines.”
Dominic Fahy, Business Group Director, Display Graphics and Business Supplies, Océ UK said: “The Arizona printers stand up to competition with all of their accolades and awards. Companies such as A3M Designs that have invested in the right systems and the right skills are in a stronger position to grow their business going forward.”

Easily updateable with no adhesive required.
Vista System International, a leading supplier of Modular Curved Frame Technology (MCFT), recently supplied its updateable Directory Wall Frames solution to "GRAFITALIA SNC" for installation at Penny Market chain of supermarkets across Italy.
The client required a smart signage design that would allow him to frequently update the time schedule of the supermarket stores, and at the same time to advertise special deals and discounts. Vista System's Directory signs with eight separated graphics areas were chosen as the ideal answer for this project primarily due to there ease of installation and update capability. So far, more than 330 signs have been ordered for the ongoing project.
Vista said its sign frames are extremely easy to update. The graphic inserts are held firmly in place thanks to the curved shape of the frames, and no adhesives are required. When an update is needed, the graphic inserts can be popped out easily by using the Vista Key suction cup.

Modern design, flexibility and competitive price won the day.
Vista System International, one of the worlds leading manufacturers of Modular Curved Frame Technology (MCFT), recently supplied its flexible way finding solution to "Rhema Press" for installation at EMKA, a large shopping centre located in Koszalin, West Poland.
The client required a high quality way finding system, with modern, uniform design that could be used in various different locations as required by the interior design of the shopping centre. Although the new system had to replace an existing less aesthetic one, a good balance was also required between supplying a high quality product, in tandem with competitive pricing.
