Stewart Bell of Digital Print Innovations
is the new managing director.
A new company has been set up by UK based Digital Print Innovations (DPI) managing director Stewart Bell, MTEX Technologies Ltd. Located in Leicestershire, it has been formed to focus on the sales, support and servicing of all MTEX direct-to-textile products across the UK and Ireland.
“The sales of MTEX digital direct to textile printers have seen unprecedented numbers since FESPA London. We successfully distributed the products through my company Digital Print Innovations, investing many months in research and development to navigate our way through the world of textiles and digital textile solutions to help our customers,” explained Bell.
“However, we felt that the MTEX brand should have a bigger presence in the UK, so we set up MTEX Technologies Ltd to help drive sales and focus on supporting customers at a local level with UK based sales, spares, training and technical business support staff.”
To ensure customer satisfaction and professional back-up, the technical business support division will be led by Rick Kwiecien and includes a number of highly trained technicians including MTEX specialist James Brunton. It will offer both technical and business support for those with MTEX products and those interested in moving into the digital textile market.
MTEX Technologies’ new UK training and demonstration centre will be centrally based in Leicestershire and the plan is to have it operational in the early summer. The centre will offer open days and training sessions for MTEX users and those wanting to find out more about digital direct to textile printing options.
With the formation of MTEX Technologies Ltd, Stewart has appointed a new director, Simeon Wicks, to the fold of his existing print solutions company (DPI). Simeon will take an active role at the company, leaving Bell free to concentrate on MTEX. Additionally, Paul Tomlinson has also been appointed to head up sales. He will be supported at the company’s Derby-based headquarters by existing general manager Sandra Wiggins and newly appointed business support assistant Tracey Whiting.
Bell commented; “I’m very excited about our increased focus for MTEX in the UK, and though obviously I can’t split myself in two, I’m delighted Simeon has chosen to be involved with DPI. With the addition of Paul and Tracey, the team at DPI is second to none and our customers are in great hands. The new structure allows me to remain in the DPI team but concentrate more on MTEX Technologies Ltd and driving new opportunities for growth in the digital textile printing sector – it’s very much a huge industry success story for 2014 and an early indicator of the shape of great things to come.”
DPI will continue to concentrate on the sales and support of associated products such as Primex tensioned fabric systems, fabric sewing and finishing solutions for exhibition and display graphics, wide format print solutions from Mutoh and Seiko and RIP solutions from Onyx and Ergosoft.
Companies will have the first opportunity to meet the newly established MTEX Technologies team at this year’s Sign and Digital UK on stand number D36, where they will be showcasing the MTEX 1800 and 5032.
Eloi Ferreira, CEO of the Portuguese-based manufacturer MTEX said: “MTEX Technologies has been born out of a need to increase the focus and support on direct-to-textile digital print sales in the UK and Ireland. With more than 16 installed bases already in a growing market, the dedicated input of Stewart and the team will be a great boost.”
Bell added; “We have the drive, knowledge and ambition to ensure that the UK can take its rightful place at the head of this emerging digital print market, and there’s never been a better time to get on board with our products that are tried, tested and leading in the market. We’re also recruiting so if you’ve serious experience in this market, and want to make a difference, then get in touch!”
