The only ‘online voice’ which devoted some attention to Irish digital print news at the time was UK based, Image Reports. However, its content coverage had been shrinking dramatically over the preceding year, deciding to only concentrate on Large Format Print. In late 2011 it made the decision to have its dedicated Irish section removed, which left an opening for a New Voice.
Print wise, the only other source of information available to Irish printers was ‘The Irish Printer’ magazine, which effectively only covered non-digital print stories, and were in essence company features and some news from abroad, without an online presence.
With Image Reports gone at the end of the 3rd quarter of 2011, Irish Printer also collapsed, although it has now been taken over by The Ashville Media Group as an online magazine. These events set the seeds set for a new voice to be born – ‘Digital Print News’. Now rebranded - as DPNlive!
Bob and Martin set out to create a new and innovative online site which would fill that gap and see REAL NEWS uploaded every week of the year.
Initially it started primarily focused on digital print large format, and although, three years later, it still has that focus, it has now become an online site which encompasses every conceivable subject from print to music.
DPNlive's goal all the time was to bring ‘Real Time News’ online to readers. It still is!
Since it started, the online magazine has now got a very large UK presence. DPNlive has readers from all over the world, particularly from the US where we have two columnists based.
To reflect this change it has now decided to re-brand as DPNlive and update the site to reflect this change.

Brian Corrigan
Brian Corrigan is a 26 year old young web developer from Lucan, Ireland. He obtained his first computer at 12 years of age and proceeded to break it immediately. With a sudden need to fix it, Brian took his first steps toward his future by reading the computers manual. Armed with a basic understanding of the hardware side of the PC he started teaching himself to code basic web pages, and from there his interest in all things tech related grew with each passing year.
Brian achieved his goal by graduating some years later with a computer science degree.
Although relatively new to the DPNlive team he has been instrumental in developing the new site and is now a key player in ensuring that DPNlive delivers a ‘top class experience’ for our readers and also that we can offer our sponsors, measurable, innovative and cost effective promotional products.
