This is set in a rundown bar in the Bronx. Two of societies rejects Danny and Roberta strike up an awkward conversation over their beer. He is a self-loathing young man who resorts more to violence than reason; she is a divorced, guilt-ridden young woman haunted by the memory of an earlier sexual incident.

This year's Dublin Book Festival which is almost entirely free includes readings, interviews, debates, book launches and workshops for adults, children and schools. All the events take place in and around Smock Alley Theatre which was, throughout the eighteenth century, home to printers and publishers.
Since the Book Festival celebrates Irish publishing and Irish-published authors, it is very fitting they should return to this area.
