The company is a leading provider of German-language MIS software, and the acquisition was made to strengthen EFI's MIS strong position in Europe.
While financial terms of the deal were unavailable, it is not expected to be material to EFI's Q4 or full-year 2013 results. Lector's employees have joined EFI and will report to Sean Whelan, director of EMEA-region operations in EFI's Productivity Software business.
"Germany has always been one of the world's largest printing industry markets, so we are pleased to have Lector Computersysteme join EFI," said Marc Olin, EFI's interim CFO and senior vice president and general manager of the company's Productivity Software business.

"We are excited to give our customers access to technology from the world's leading developer of print MIS software."
Lector's MIS products will become part of the EFI Productivity Software family of products. Its technology will also be integrated with EFI Wide Format and EFI VUTEk superwide format inkjet printers, as well as with EFI Fiery, a leading digital front end platform for Xerox, Canon, Ricoh and Konica Minolta printers and copiers.
