Things are moving on, and online print media is not!
During the Christmas holidays I was thinking about how much inroads social media sites and in-house sites have impacted online print publications.
Let’s say you get a new machine. You can take a photo of it, post it on Facebook and include a link. Simple!
It’s been a while since I have written an editorial for DPNlive.com.
Sold my house in Cavan, lived in a hotel for three weeks and am now embedded in the Sunny south east of Ireland, Wexford.
All this takes time, particularly getting your communications up and running again!
What do your customers need, not want!
Once upon a time, when I was a young paper sales manager for a large multi-national paper manufacturing company, you sold the products that were in your portfolio to both paper merchants and large printers alike.
Due to the passing of my Mother-In-Law today, 21 May 2015, there will be no uploads this week.
May she Rest in Peace.
Thank you for understanding.

Sector upgrades its online presence, but does it really understand the game!
In my *view, the paper merchant industry in Ireland is unusual in that it doesn’t actively promote its brand or products via online media. Well, yes, they all have sites, but for some unknown reason, none of them will use the online resources available to them within their industry to get their message across to printers about new products, new services, new special offers or anything else, unlike virtually every other industry sector in the country.
Sign & Digital UK 2015 returns hosting a raft of top product launches.
Sign & Digital UK, the leading trade exhibition for the sign making, display solutions and digital printing industry, returns to the NEC Birmingham from 24 to 26 March 2015 in halls 17 and 18.
This year’s show, which is 20% bigger than the 2014 event, will feature more than 190 of the industry’s biggest name exhibitors. There is also an extensive, free-to-attend, seminar programme running across four dedicated theatres, live product demonstrations, practical workshops and exclusive show offers.
50 different educational seminars, designed to inspire and inform delegates looking for new ways to drive business growth and profitability.
So Dublin has been chosen to host Dscoop’s largest EMEA conference at the relatively new and stunning Convention Centre in the city centre. Just shows you what can be done by a good location, four floors of excellent facilities and of course the influence of HP.
#SDUK pulls out all the stops to make this year’s show the biggest yet!
Sign & Digital UK is coming to town at the end of March and it looks like the major players and smaller companies are pulling out all the stops to make this a huge success.
#SDUK confirmed that the biggest stands this year will be Roland DG, Hybrid Services, Canon UK & Ire and HP. A good indication that exhibitors really believe 2015 is the time for print companies to invest.
