Editorial CommentWhite edifices, my lovely silver birch trees are bare of leaves now, shadowed by their background of beech hedging surrounding the front fence. Its well into autumn and even those are changing colour.

Beautiful to see but they tell a story about winter coming.

On the other hand, the Liquid Amber trees which frame the entrance drive are still in full leaf!
