Konica Minolta brings class production to Premier Print with education push.
Welsh based Premier Print has installed a new print production system from digital technology giant Konica Minolta. One of the main reasons for the purchase was to cut click costs dramatically for the company, which has trebled output and opened up new markets including winning new contracts in education.
According to Premier Print, introducing greater flexibility and more colour output as part of an investment in a bizhub PRESS C1060 and Duplo DC-645 cutter and slitter, is paying dividends for the company which has also been given business development support by Konica Minolta under its Digital1234 programme.

It’s been reported by EFI that British trade-only printer SuperWide Digital has invested in two VUTEk® machines to increase production capacity and support its expansion into new sales areas. It purchased a VUTEk GS3250LX Pro 3.2m wide-format flatbed and roll-fed LED-curing printer in March 2013, and the UK Company has reported that it has benefitted so extensively from this investment that it has doubled up by buying a second unit: a VUTEk GS5500LXr Pro five-metre roll-to-roll LED-curing machine, which will now headline its super-wide format production. This second investment is a further demonstration of SuperWide's confidence in EFI.

It’s been confirmed that UK based Your Print Specialists (YPS) has been appointed as a learning partner at Studio West Newcastle. The announcement was made after it installed a laser-engraver and wide-format inkjet printer into the ‘project-based learning’ school. Studio West is a brand new school, which had its first intake of students in September 2014. It is recruiting a number of businesses to provide work placement opportunities and real life projects across a variety of market sectors, with YPS set to mentor and give the youngsters insight into the wide-format printing industry.
