Agra Graphics’ new :Anapurna 2540 FB debuts at FESPA Digital in Barcelona this month. The 2.54m x 1.54m model is a dedicated flat-bed solution in a photo quality engine.

Featuring six colours plus white, it produces highly durable prints with excellent adhesion on a multitude of substrates.

Agfa is flagging a revolutionary bed design and configuration which it says will enhance accurate and reliable dot placement, and allow the press to deliver throughput speeds of up to 45m2/hour. The bed is complemented by a two-table vacuum zone, each of which has four different compartments enabling them to handle smaller step-and-repeat and nested applications. Agfa has simplified double-sided printing on the machine with the use of 11 retractable register pins to provide excellent alignment and positioning on both sides of the bed.

As with all :Anapurna platforms, the 2540 FB version destined for FESPA features the company’s dedicated UV-curable inks formulated to provide strong adhesion and long lasting images. The white ink can be applied as a pre- or post-print option or as a spot color to highlight specific image areas.

In addition to the :Anapurna 2540 FB Agfa plans to demonstrate its top selling UV-curable :Anapurna M2050. This is an entry level machine for businesses wishing to benefit from the capabilities of UV-curable output and the ability to print direct on to 2 x 3m rigid and 2m wide flexible materials.

Ingrid Merckx, chief operating officer for inkjet at Agfa Graphics says: “At this year’s FESPA Digital we are taking the challenge by demonstrating a choice of solutions from our most complete range in wide-format inkjet printers.”

Also on show will be Agfa’s :Jeti family represented by the :Jeti 3324 Aquajet Pro direct-to-textile printer and the :Jeti 3020 Titan high-speed system.

The six-colour :Jeti 3324 Aquajet Pro aqueous-based textile printer features the latest generation disperse inks to produce output onto any polyester-based fabric. It has an inline infra-red fixation system to ensure vibrant and durable results which are fade and wash resistant. This 3.2m engine has throughput speeds of up to 65m2/hour and a true resolution of 400 dpi.

The second :Jeti 3020 Titan FTR is a combination flat-bed and flat-to-roll engine offering users high-speed production in a versatile, upgradeable 3.2m platform. This wide-format printer is designed to combine very fast throughput with a variety of ink configurations, including white. It has several upgrade levels so users can increase their speed and output capabilities at a time to suit their business growth. Agfa will show the high-speed-with-white version with 32 color heads and four heads for white in Barcelona.

Agfa Graphics is on stand K40 at FESPA Digital 2012 February 21st to 24th, 2012.
