DG continues to champion Young Signmakers at the BSGA British Sign Awards 2016.

Once again Roland DG has confirmed that it will continue to champion the next generation of signage professional by sponsoring the ‘Young Sign Maker of the Year’ award at this year’s BSGA British Sign Awards at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham, UK on the 3 November 2016.

As one of the UK’s market leading manufacturers of wide format digital printers for durable graphics, Roland DG sponsorship is seen as a commitment to supporting young and emerging talent from the sign industry. The new ‘Young Sign Maker of the Year ‘award will reward young sign makers who are making an outstanding contribution to a sign business.

Nominations are now open and employers or supervisors can submit an entry for potential candidates through the BSGA British Sign Awards website before the submission deadline on Friday 5th August 2016.Entrants must be aged 25 or under on or before 31 March 2016 and should be employed in a UK sign business.

The event was formally known as the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award, and this year the award criteria have been broadened to make it accessible to more young sign makers.

“The aim of the ‘Young Sign Maker of the Year’ award is to find a young sign maker who is already making an outstanding contribution to a sign business in terms of commitment, ability, contribution to the business and future potential.

“However, formal training and qualifications are vital to young people and all candidates should have undertaken or be looking to undertake a formal training programme such as a Sign making Apprenticeship or equivalent.”

This sponsorship is another example of Roland DG’s commitment to inspire loyal, long-lasting relationships and educational support, with services such as the Roland DG Academy: An industry recognised training facility available to businesses and individuals working within the heart of the creative industry.

The Academy presents delegates with a learning environment equipped with state-of-the-art training technologies and the latest Roland DG technology to develop their skills and expertise across the print industry. And the lucky winner of the ‘Young Sign Maker of the Year’ Award will not only take home this prestigious accolade, but will also be offered a space on a Roland DG Academy course of their choice as a bonus prize.

The winner of the ‘Young Sign Maker of the Year’ award will be announced at the BSGA Awards Presentation gala event where Roland DG will also participate in the integrated ‘Sponsor Showcase’ displaying its wide-format digital print and cut technology.
